Triple Chocolate Amish Friendship Bread

I had intended on making the original recipe for my first loaf, but the only pudding I had in the house was chocolate.  So I ran with it.  Adding not only the chocolate pudding, but cocoa powder and dark chocolate chips.  This bread taste like a chocolate cake and the crusty top is like a brownie with just a hint of the Amish bread awesomeness through out the bread.  There are so many variations you can do with the starter, my head starts to spin when I try to think of all that I want to do.  Lots more recipes coming in the future!

Triple Chocolate Amish Friendship Bread

1 Cup Starter
3 Eggs
1 Cup Oil
1/2 Cup Milk
1 Cup Sugar
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
2 Cups Flour
1 Large Box of Instant Chocolate Pudding
2 Tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips

Preheat oven to 325 Degree F.  In a large bowl mix starter, eggs, oil, milk and vanilla.  In another bowl add dry ingredients, mixing.  Add the dry ingredients to the wet, mixing well.  Stir in chocolate chips.  Grease 2-3 bread pans, depending on size.  Pour batter evenly into pans, so its 3/4 full.  Bake for 1 hour or until a tooth pick inserted comes out clean.  Let cool.  Dust with powdered sugar and cocoa.

My oldest enjoying a piece of bread.

Your description of this cake really makes it sound yummy. Seriously, who could resist something that's like a chocolate cake and brownie combined into one?

This looks delicious. I made Amish bread years ago, but never had a recipe for a chocolate version. I like this idea a lot better!
